almost three and a half decades later release Fans of the early classic, Top Gun, finally get a long-overdue sequel and it’s showing colors flying in theaters around the world so far. Returning from the original movie is everyone’s favorite rebel, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell played by none other than the Hollywood legend, tom cruise ,
It might not be a Tom Cruise movie if the filming process didn’t involve extremely physically challenging training. So, like last time, Tom Cruise underwent rigorous fighter pilot training to resume his role. The actor said he hadn’t trained since 1985 when the last film was in production and it was a pleasure to be back here after spending at least 3 months with the US Naval Academy. However, despite being deemed as an everlasting god by most of the people, it seems the years have taken a toll on the great actor as he admitted that this time around, the training made him look a bit sick.
Apart from Cruise, the all-new cast of the film also had to go through the same rigorous training to perform their own stunts. The cast included Miles Teller, Glen Powell and Jay Ellis.
The training was very tough and as per reports, several members of the cast fell ill while undergoing it. Miles Teller was adamant that he wasn’t one to get sick, but commented on the fact that none of the actors were eager to get back on the jets once they were out. At the end of the day, no one was willing to cash the check that the film production was writing for them.
Top Gun Maverick has been one of the most awaited movies of the year and as per the latest launch did not disappoint. Its opening is estimated to grab a total of $150 million so far. The film was reviewed by IMDb with an 8.7 rating and Rotten Tomatoes giving it a very generous 97%, linking it with Mission Impossible: Fallout as the highest rated Tom Cruise film.
