The defamation continues as Amber Heard takes her seat this Wednesday
The ongoing legal battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has moved on to the next step. Hurd took the stand on Wednesday and accused her ex-husband of abusing her. The pair first met in 2011 during production the Rum Diary in 2011. After years of dating, they married in 2015, but Amber Heard filed for divorce in 2016 citing domestic abuse. In the years that followed, Team Heard continued to accuse after accusation and Depp’s reputation declined. But in the case that was reopened two weeks ago, we got to hear many interesting anecdotes about the self-proclaimed Herd, a victim of domestic violence. Let us now know in detail.
Amber Heard on the Stand
Heard began by talking about the time Depp allegedly stabbed her in the face. This was in response to the time Depp talked about Heard laughing at his “Vino Forever” tattoo. Hurd said he thought he was joking and laughed. But he reportedly slapped her twice in the face, which made her realize the worst that could happen.
She also said that she was sexually assaulted by Depp in 2013, and there was nothing she could do about it. It also included “cavity search”.
trial so far
As of this week, Depp’s legal team was presenting its case in the case. Since he was the plaintiff, he had to first produce witnesses. Depp himself spoke on the stand and gave his side of the story, including moments from his childhood. Depp and his witnesses deny that he does not abuse, and even Heard has detailed sudden personality changes.
For now, it seems that the jury, as well as the rest of the world, is overwhelmingly supportive of Depp. But now that Hurd and his team are presenting, it’s likely that public opinion may be changing.
