‘I really didn’t believe it was Johnny Depp, but it sounded like him and he left the phone number saying he wanted to talk to me.’

Zellner commented that in his opinion, the fact Depp reached out to him demonstrated to him that ‘he was innocent’.

‘It was a sign to me of the fact that he was innocent,’ because he said, “I looked at making a murderer, where you said if you were guilty you would be the last person, if they were guilty, because you would find out.” will go about it”,’ she recalled.

The legal counsel also said that his testimony during the trial was “not an act”, describing the Hollywood star as a “very humble and honest person”.

Depp sued his ex-wife Heard for $50m for an op-ed he wrote for The Washington Post in 2018 about his experiences with domestic violence.

While he was not named in the article, his team argued that it meant he was sexually and physically abusive during their relationship, which they denied.

The Aquaman actress later countered her ex-husband, demanding $100 million in damages and claiming he insulted her by calling him a liar.
