Rapper Hypo, who used to date Amelie Sande, was stabbed to death at a party yesterday as the country celebrated the Jubilee Bank holiday.

Hypo, whose real name was Lamar Jackson, filmed himself at an event in east London shortly before he died.

After his murder after midnight of June 3, the police have started a murder investigation.

Officers responded to reports of a fight, and found him stabbed at an event on Chigwell Road in Woodford Green.

Emergency services tried to rescue him but the 39-year-old hypo was pronounced dead on the spot.

Police said they are still awaiting formal identification but have informed his family who are being supported by specialist officers.

Eyewitnesses alleged that some party-goers “deliberately blocked” an ambulance that arrived for help.

A local businessman said he heard “lots of screaming and cars coming out”.

An ambulance arrived half an hour later, the witness said, but could not reach the facility as cars allegedly blocked the entrance. He claimed that the cars were not trying to leave, but were ‘deliberately trying to block access to the ambulance’.

Another resident who witnessed the scene said: ‘People were sitting in their cars and it looked like they were deliberately blocking this ambulance with their blue lights on to the venue.’

The witness, who did not wish to be named, said: ‘My house was back at the place where the party was held. The loud music started around 4 pm and I think 100 people were coming to this party.

‘Around midnight I heard screaming and shouting and witnessed a huge fight with dozens of people involved. I knew something was not right, I could just feel it…’

They claim that after this people started taking to the streets and left the area in their cars.

‘My kids shouldn’t see the murder scene through their bedroom windows. They were asking about it today, what do you tell a kid about that? When the police arrived, many people had left but they kept some people to talk to them. What happened was shameful,’ she said.

She also alleged that a party member had threatened her after the incident.

He said, ‘When people ran away, a man knocked on my bin and from my balcony I asked him why he did this.’ ‘He threatens me saying he will “slap me” and that he knows where I live and will come back for me.’

Footage shared on social media showed paramedics battling to save the hypo’s life.

Police also believe that other guests filmed him stabbing him and some inadvertently captured the attack on a mobile phone. He has appealed to anyone with footage or information to come forward.

Hypo and ex-girlfriend Emil Sand worked together on a record label.

He was a partner of the Hard Copy label, where the late Jamal Edwards also served as a producer. The star became famous with his Mashtown group, performing with Esco and Marg, and they appeared on Tim Westwood TV.

Hundreds of friends and fans have paid tribute to Hypo on social media and shared several videos of his performance.

Actress Tanika Bailey paid her tribute on social media and said: ‘Hypo.. my big brother.. we fight like cat and dog!, but I would never wish death for you.. only Jah knows Well, I’m sorry for that!’

Rapper Genesis Elijah also remembered Hypo, saying: ‘I still got footage of my hypes and dappy chilling at the shop that I never put out. RIP hypo.’

No arrests have been made at this stage.

Detective Chief Inspector Lawrence Smith of the Metropolitan Police said: ‘The attack took place at a party and we know a large number of people may have attended. I would urge anyone who has yet to talk to us to come forward and tell us what you saw.

‘It is possible that incidents of stabbing and perhaps even murder were captured on people’s phones. Please take a look and give us a call. It is important for us to establish what happened.
