tonight, a A star-studded concert is being held outside Buckingham Palace in honor of Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate her platinum jubilee, with artists ranging from the Queen to Eurovision’s Sam Ryder.
However, when the concert began, Queen was the undisputed star of the show, starring in a pre-recorded skit with none other than Paddington Bear.
After appearing in the James Bond sequence for the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, Monarch has experience showing off his acting skills.
A decade later, and she’s still just as comfortable in front of the camera, sitting down to afternoon tea with the beloved animated bear — and the people watching the show at home loved the lovely conversation.
At one point, Paddington accidentally spilled some food on a butler’s face, before revealing that he had a marmalade sandwich kept for safekeeping.
The Queen then did a better job, opening her handbag on the table to reveal that she had a sandwich of her own.
Queen was the first artist to perform on stage for the Jubilee Concert, with Adam Lambert singing in place of the late Freddie Mercury.
As the music began, Queen and Paddington tapped their cutlery in time to accompany the music.
People on Twitter couldn’t get over the pair’s unexpected sight, with one that read: ‘Omg Paddington with the Queen……so cute.’
‘I really hate being here but literally watching the queen interact with Paddington is making me a little cheesy LMAOO this is cute!’ Someone else commented.
One person described the opening skit as ‘pure gold’, while another said: ‘Honestly the Queen and Paddington are the best I have ever seen.’
Another man seemed in disbelief at what he saw, saying: ‘The Queen and the Paddington Bear. It’s a fever dream.’
One person commented, ‘Go on Queen, eat a marmalade sandwich with Paddington Bear.’
Paddington and the Queen? Priceless!’ The other chuckled.
The line-up for the Platinum Jubilee concert is extensive, with boasting stars including, at least, Diana Ross, Craig David, Hans Zimmer and Diversity.
There will be a pre-recorded performance by Sir Elton John, while stars including Sir David Attenborough, Emma Raducanu, David Beckham, Stephen Fry, Dame Julie Andrews, The Royal Ballet and Ellie Simmonds will also appear.
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert is airing on BBC One and will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
