Newcastle United have accepted a £26million offer for Reims striker Hugo Ekitic, who is also on Manchester United’s radar.

Ekitic, 19, almost joined Newcastle during the January transfer window and has been the target of several clubs going into the summer after scoring 10 goals in 24 Ligue 1 appearances this term.

But Magpies are now closing in on a deal agreed upon for an initial fee as well as add-ons of up to €5 million. Guardian.

While Ekitic is yet to sign a contract with the Premier League side, reports claim he has indicated he is ready to agree to the terms.

Manchester United are also among interested clubs who inquired about the striker in May, ESPN reports. United are said to have contacted player representatives to discuss their plans for next season.

Ektic was also a target for Arsenal who are desperate to reveal their options.

Bayern Munich are said to have considered the teenager as a possible long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Lille defender Sven Boutman meanwhile remains on Newcastle’s radar.

The Ligue 1 side refused to sell the 22-year-old with Newcastle during the January transfer window, turning instead to Dan Byrne, who was instrumental in his improved form during the second half of the season.

Boutman has now confirmed that Newcastle, along with AC Milan, are interested in signing him this summer.

‘Those clubs are interested, yes,’ he told Algemeen Dagblad. ‘I can’t and won’t say much about it.’

‘what I want? Taking a good step towards a good competition. I am also looking forward to a new step.

‘I know what I want. It doesn’t necessarily have to be that club or that competition. You weigh all kinds of things and then the whole picture suits you. I should have a very good feeling about it.’
