The actress passed away on July 8, 2020 After accidentally drowning during a boating incident in Piru Lake, California. His body was discovered five days later.
Josie was with him at the time but Naya used all her might to get him back on the boat, where he was later safe and sleeping.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, her ex-husband Ryan Dorsey, who is also Josie’s parent, shared an adorable round of photos of their six-year-old son finishing kindergarten.
In some photos, Ryan held Josie in his arms, both wearing smart jackets and ties for the occasion, as they beamed for the camera together.
In another, Josie was pictured with her graduation certificate, while she also posed for a picture making a peace sign with her fingers.
Proud dad Ryan, 38, also shared a slightly smoky snap of his son celebrating together in the form of a fierce hug and a kiss.
‘Can’t believe it, but it’s officially out of kindergarten,’ Ryan shared.
He added, with some degree of disbelief: ‘My baby boy is a really big boy now going to first grade’ [sic],
‘@joseydorsey I love you so much and you make me so proud to be my father! Up and onwards to the next chapter my little man!! ‘
Plenty of friends and followers left their congratulations in the comments, including Naya’s former Glee co-star, Jenna Ushkowitz.
35-year-old, who recently Announces her first pregnancy with husband David Stanley, wrote: ‘Wow congratulations Josie!!!!!’
‘Congratulations Josie! Her mom must be so proud of you both,’ one follower commented. ‘You have a beautiful relationship with your son!
Naya and Ryan dated briefly in 2010 before finding each other again in 2014, and secretly tied the knot that July.
They announced that they were expecting baby Josie in February 2015.
In 2016, Naya filed for divorce from Ryan before parting ways. However, they separated again the following year with the divorce finalized in June 2018.
Despite their troubled marriage, Naya and Ryan remained good friends and often shared photos of Josie spending time together as a family until her death.

Ryan also shared an update on ‘resilient’ son Josie as he marked the first anniversary of his funeral, acknowledging it as ‘a strange and difficult month’ for the family.
‘He misses you, but knows he will see you again, and the invisible wire is something that has helped us during this ever-evolving transition of your time with us on Earth that was wrong and causes From we will never understand the acronym… very soon…’, wrote the actor.
Ryan ended the post saying, ‘Fly soar, rest in peace, knowing he’s doing okay…
