Johnny Depp puts badger in wildlife rescue after Amber Heard case

A day after winning a defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard, Johnny Depp made a surprise visit to a wildlife rescue organization, photographing the actor holding an orphaned badger cub.

‘And it was an incredible afternoon for our staff and volunteers, as they toured the hospital’s care and vet units. Johnny was incredibly appreciative and in his own words was “blown away” by what he saw.

Foley Wildlife Rescue explained that allowing Freddie to hold, an orphaned badger cub, is a ‘rare privilege’ that Depp was granted.

‘To cap off the trip, we also gave him the rare privilege of briefly holding Freddy (as in Mercury!), one of the many orphaned badger cubs we are currently hand-raising – And I think it’s fair to say that he went bold. Complete experience!’ The statement ended.

Depp recently collaborated with Beck on the 2020 track Isolation prior to a joint performance.

The actor’s defamation suit with Heard came after he sued his ex-wife for $50m (£39.8m) in a 2018 op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post about her alleged experiences of sexual abuse. Spoke about, but didn’t mention it by name.
