Two people have been killed in an alleged gunfight at an Aldi store in central Germany.

According to police, the shooting took place around 1 p.m. (1100 GMT) local time in Schwalmstadt-Tresa, a city of about 8,500 people northeast of the financial capital Frankfurt.

He said it was not yet clear what happened.
