Simon Cowell slightly dampened the mood for the Queen’s platinum jubilee weekend on Britain’s Got Talent last night when he questioned whether her majesty would be at a Royal Variety performance this year.

The 62-year-old music mogul made the remarks while talking to comedian Ben Nicklas during Sunday night’s finale, which saw comedian Axel Blake storm the competition.
