While Jamaica cries blood murderers continues to draw blood, at the same time it seems most Jamaican got immune to these kinds of criminal activities taken place on a daily basis. Tell a Jamaican 64 of their brothers and sisters got murdered this month and they instantly seems depressed and sadden, within a second or two they all forget about.
What can really be done by a regular citizen to make a difference tackling this crime beast, we could voice our concern or even start petitions or Facebook fan page brining light to what’s going on back in Jamaica and it still seems hopeless.
It was this week Jamaica Police and Military descend on Denham Town in Jamaica with the intent on capturing two wanted men, the police and military force was greeted with extreme violence and gun battled that last three hours.
When the dust settled a statement from the Jamaica Police Force sated that two gun men were captured but not without casualties, three law men injured while two known gunmen lost their lives. See the full report here (
). This was a large scale gun battle but as you will soon realized from our report below, small sporadic gun battle took place all the time with police and gunmen regularly in Jamaica.
Today is March 18th 2010, a little bit past the half way mark of the month and we already seen a death toll of 64 for the month of March, this number are murderous crime committed by criminals. We did not count accidental death, natural death or death by police, these are murders committed by criminals.
Our numbers or not conclusive since Jamaica violent culture emulating a military war zone, nevertheless our numbers can be consider on point since we gather our info from Jamaica media outlet that report these crime. Keep in mind that some murders may not found out about yet or may not be reported, so this number is most likely more but not less.
Twenty-three year-old Christopher Hamilton of Retirement district, near Granville in St. James, was shot and killed by unknown assailants in his community yesterday.
Information is that about 5:45 p.m., residents saw Hamilton being chased by a group of men armed with guns. Shortly after, explosions were heard and the police summoned. On the arrival of the police, Hamilton was found with multiple gunshot wounds all over his body. He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Forty-four year-old Kenton Dyer of Sharper Lane, Old Harbour, St. Catherine was killed by gunmen about 10:00 p. m., in his community last night.
After hearing loud explosions citizens called the police who went to investigate, and found Dyer with gunshot wounds. He reportedly died on the spot. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.
Thirty-nine year-old Karen Sinclair, vendor of Lincoln Road, Kingston 5 was shot dead by unknown assailants at her home this evening.
Information is that about 5:55 p.m., Sinclair was standing at the front of her yard when she was approached by two men armed with handguns who immediately opened fire, hitting her several times. She died on the spot. The men escaped in a waiting motor car. Sinclair was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Fifty-seven year-old Alva Beckford, gardener of Norwood St. James was stabbed to death in Freeport, Montego Bay this afternoon.
Information received is that about 12:30 p.m., Beckford was at work when an argument developed between himself and a co-worker. During the dispute a knife was used to stab Beckford. He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
The Elletson Road CIB in the Kingston Eastern Police Division has commenced investigations into the shooting death of 44-year-old Ryan Brown otherwise called “Sarge”, at Giltress Street, Rollington Town, Kingston 2 last night.
Reports are that about 8:10 p.m., explosions were heard in the area, after which Brown was seen being chased by a man armed with a gun. The gunman caught up with him and shot him several times, killing him on the spot. The police processed the crime scene while Brown’s body was removed to the morgue.
Detectives from the Montego Bay CIB have commenced investigations into the shooting death of two men in separate incidents at Tucker main road, Granville and Long Lane, Anchovy, St. James this morning.
The dead men are 45-year-old Desmond Gentles otherwise called “Yellow” of Long Lane and an unidentified man believed to be in the thirties of dark complexion, slim build and about 173 centimetres (5feet 8 inches) long. His body was clad in a blue T-shirt, jeans pants and multi-coloured underpants.
Reports from the CCN’s Liaison Officer are about 2:45 a.m., residents reportedly heard explosions in Long Lane and alerted the cops. The lawmen who visited the scene found Gentles’ body with gunshot wounds in a ditch. The area was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post mortem.
In the second incident about 1:50 a.m., several explosions were heard in the Tucker area and the police were called. Investigators arrived on the scene and the body of the unidentified man was seen with gunshot wounds. Nineteen-year-old Raymond Haylett of Portmore Villa was shot dead by unknown assailants at Caincurran Avenue, Pembroke Hall, Kingston 20 yesterday.
Reports are that about 5:10 p.m., residents heard explosions and alerted the police. Investigators who went to the crime scene found Haylett with gunshot wounds in a Toyota Tercel motor car. The scene was processed and his body removed to the morgue.
The May Pen Police in Clarendon are probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of 31-year-old Aldrian Rowe and the injuring of his 22-year-old girlfriend at their home at Savannah district, Palmers Cross in the parish last night.
Reports received are that about 9:45 p.m., the couple was at home when residents heard several explosions. They later saw Rowe’s girlfriend running and crying for help. The police were called and Rowe’s body with multiple gunshot wounds was found. His girlfriend, who was also shot, has been admitted to hospital in critical but stable condition.

Nineteen-year-old Jason Hall of Manchester Road, Manchester was stabbed to death during a dispute with a 28-year-old man at a school in the parish last night. The accused has since been arrested.
Reports are that about 11:15 p.m., Hall was at a party at the institution when an argument developed between him and another man. During the altercation, a knife was used to stab him. He was assisted to the Mandeville Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The CCN is reporting that about 9:30 p.m., Wong Sue was at home with family members when a man armed with a gun entered through an open door and opened fire hitting her. She was taken to the Lionel Town Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Detectives have not established a motive for the killing.

The Hunts Bay Police are seeking the assistance of the public in locating a man who is the suspect in yesterday’s gun murder of 35-year-old Mark Griffiths, a plumber of Robinson Road, Kingston 11.
The suspect is of dark complexion, slim build and about 168 centimetres (5feet 6 inches) tall. On the day Griffiths was killed the suspect wore a black cap with the word “Patriot” at the back, a blue T-shirt and a blue jeans pants.

Gang leader fatally shot in Clarendon

Vince-Roy Bent otherwise called “Chicken”, leader of the “Webb Lane Gang” operating out of Palmers Cross and other areas in Clarendon was this morning shot dead by members of the Joint Task Force and an AK 47 rifle with six rounds of ammunition taken from him.
Information received is that about 11:00 a.m., members of a police/military team carried out operations in Palmers Cross. During the exercise Bent who was seen in a section of the community, challenged the lawmen in a gun battle and was fatally shot.
Bent was wanted for several crimes committed in various communities within Clarendon.
The Bureau of Special Investigations has commenced a probe.

Detectives from the Savanna-la-Mar CIB in Westmoreland have commenced investigations into the shooting death of Delroy Wynter a 29-year-old shopkeeper of Bastard Cedar Walk district in the parish by unknown assailants last night.

Wesley Kerr otherwise called “Bingy” a chef of Clarkes Town district, Porus, Manchester was chopped and stabbed to death during a fight with his cousin in the community yesterday.
The cousin, whose identity is being withheld pending further investigations, later turned himself in to the police.
Reports received are that about 3:45 p.m., Kerr and his cousin had a domestic dispute which evolved into a fight. During the melee, Kerr sustained several stab and chop wounds. He died on the spot. Skeletal remains believed to be those of a human being were found in a shallow grave in Delido Crescent, Ensom City, Spanish Town, St. Catherine yesterday.
Information received is that about 2:30 p.m. residents reported smelling a foul odour emanating from a section of the community and summoned the police. Detectives who responded found the bones in a shallow grave. The crime scene was processed and the bones were removed to a laboratory for further testing by the government pathologist.

The Seaview Gardens Police in St. Andrew has commenced a probe into the shooting death of a woman who was a passenger on a minibus on Spanish Town Road, in the parish last night.
Dead is 22 year-old Chevelle Morris of Duhaney Drive, Duhaney Park, Kingston 20.
Reports received by the CCN are that about 8:45 p.m., Miss Morris was among other passengers aboard the vehicle en route to Duhaney Park. Forty-two year-old Fredrick Jones of Randwick Drive, Meadowbrook, Kingston 19 was shot dead by a gunman at his home last night.
Information is that about 11:21 p.m., Jones drove into his yard and alighted from his vehicle when he was attacked and shot by a gunman. He died on the spot. His body was removed to the morgue following the processing of the crime scene by police.

The Ocho Rios Police in St. Ann have commenced a probe into the stabbing death of two men and the injuring of another at the Transportation Centre in the town this morning.
Those dead are 25-year-old Michael Jackson otherwise called “Mad Dawg” of Carib Heights Street and a man known only as “Evil Head” of Buckfield, Ocho Rios, St Ann. The injured man is said to be about 53 years old.
Reports are that about 7:30 a.m., the injured man was at the transport centre with family members when a dispute developed with Jackson and “Evil Head”. During the confrontation knives were drawn, “Evil Head” and Jackson were stabbed several times. The police were called and the injured men taken to the hospital where the two men were pronounced dead and the 53-year-old man admitted in stable condition.

Two women were shot, one fatally by a gunman along Barbican Road, Kingston 6 this morning.
The dead woman has been identified as Kareen Walters 47-years-old of Waterloo Road, Kingston 8, while injured is a 42 year-old woman of Barbican in Kingston 6.
Information received by the CCN is that about 9:05 a.m., the women were walking along Barbican Road when they were approached by a man on foot armed with a handgun. The gunman immediately opened fire hitting both of them and escaped in the area.
The injured women were taken to hospital where Ms. Walters was pronounced dead and the other woman admitted in stable condition.
The Half Way Tree CIB are investigating.
Men killed in separate incidents in St. James

Twenty-five year-old Daryl Simpson of Salt Spring and twenty-six year-old Liston Dodd of Garlands, both in St. James, were shot dead by unknown assailants in separate incidents in the parish yesterday.
Reports are that about 1:00 p.m., residents of Dun Lane in Salt Spring heard explosions and called the police. When officers arrived they found Simpson’s bullet-riddled body on the roadway. The lawmen processed the crime scene and the body was removed to the morgue.
Approximately an hour later, a passerby saw Dodd’s body on the Catadupa main road and called the police. It was examined by investigators who went to the area and found to have several gunshot wounds. The body was removed to the morgue.
The incidents are being investigated by the Montego Bay and Spring Mount CIBs respectively.

Fifty-year-old Carlton Hewitt and 24-year-old Steve Denton of Havana Heights, Denbigh and Austin Avenue, May Pen respectively, both in Clarendon were shot and killed by unknown assailants in their communities yesterday.
Information is that about 6:30 p.m., a relative went to Hewitt’s house to visit and found him in a pool of blood. He was taken to the May Pen Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. Police have confirmed that he was shot.
The second incident occurred about 7:18 p.m. Denton, who was a vendor, was standing at his stall when he was approached by two men armed with guns. The men immediately opened fire hitting him several times. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The May Pen CIB is investigating both incidents.

The body of 46-six year-old Jonathon Brown, a mason of York Town, Clarendon was found on a dirt track at New Town in parish this morning.
Information gathered by the CCN is that about 8:10 a.m., residents summoned the police to the community after discovering the body of a man on a dirt track. On their arrival, they closely inspected the body and found it to have multiple gunshot wounds and its throat slashed. It was subsequently removed to the morgue.
The Hayes Police who are probing the homicide is appealing to persons who may have information about the killer/s or their whereabouts to contact 986-5130, Crime Stop at 311, Kingfish at 811, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.

The Bureau of Special Investigations has commenced a probe into the fatal shooting of an unidentified man, believed to be about 20 years old, on the Roehampton main road in Anchovy, St James this morning. An illegal firearm was taken from him.
His body is of fair complexion and about 173 centimetres (5 feet 8 inches) long. It was clad in a multi-coloured shorts and army green shirt.
Reports are that about 10:45 a.m., police were on patrol in the Anchovy area where a Toyota motor car that was reportedly robbed from its owner was spotted and two men seen changing the tyres. When they were accosted, the men brandished guns and opened fire at the officers; a running gun battle subsequently ensued. After the shooting, one of the men was found with gunshot wounds and a homemade shotgun retrieved from him. He was pronounced dead at hospital.
Investigations continue.
Man killed in dispute with another in Kingston

A man was killed after being hit in the head during a dispute with a man believed to be of unsound mind at a dump at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston yesterday.
The man killed is only known as Orville Fletcher, while the accused, who is called “Big wheel”, is being sought by the police.
Reports from the CCN are that about 10:00 a.m., both men were involved in a dispute at the dump. During the altercation, it is alleged that “Big wheel” hit Fletcher in the head with a blunt object and fled. The injured man was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Kingston Eastern Police who are probing the matter have since launched a search for “Big wheel”.

Dead is Junior Reid otherwise called “Moonie”.
According to the CCN, about 7:30 p.m., neighbours reported hearing an explosion at the shopkeeper’s residents and alerted the police. Investigators from the Lionel Town Police Station responded and found Mr. Reid’s body in his yard; he had been shot. The body was subsequently removed to the morgue.

Tractor operator gunned down in Rio Cobre

Gruesome murder in St. Thomas

Senior Detectives attached to the St. Thomas Police Division are this afternoon carrying out investigations into the gruesome murder of Franklyn McCalla of Stanton Housing Scheme in the parish.
Reports are that about 8:00 am today, the head of Mr. McCalla was found in the Red Hills area by frightened residents who informed the police. The cops launched a search of the area and the remainder of Mr. McCalla’s body was found in the trunk of a car on a farm about five miles from where the head was found.
Evidence gathered from his house in the Spring Gardens Housing Scheme, is strongly indicating he was murdered at his house.
Meanwhile the St. Thomas Police are investigating the discovery of the head of another human being in the Retreat area. This discovery was also made early this morning. Investigations by the police lead them to shallow grave where it is suspected that a body is buried. The lawmen are however awaiting the arrival of the pathologist before the grave is dug up.

Police investigate man’s death in Anchovy Meadows, St. James

The Anchovy Police have commenced a probe into the shooting death of 19-year-old Reno Delisser of Anchovy Meadows, St. James yesterday.
Reports received by the CCN are that about 1:00 p.m., Reno was walking on a road in the community when he was attacked and shot. When the police visited the scene, Reno’s body was found with multiple gunshot wounds. The crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.
Investigation continues.
Man shot dead at home in Glengoffe, St. Catherine

Twenty-seven year-old Spencer Roberts of Morris Hall district, Glengoffe, St. Catherine was shot and killed by unknown assailants at his home last night.
Information is that about 8:00 p.m., residents heard explosions and called the police. Investigators who responded found Roberts’ body with gunshot wounds lying beside his house. It was removed to the morgue for post mortem following the processing of the scene by officers.
The Glengoffe Police are investigating.
Shopkeeper’s body found at his establishment in Pennant, Clarendon

The body of 56-year-old shopkeeper, Selburn Gayle of Mt. Hindmost district, Pennant, Clarendon was found with its throat slashed at his business place in the district yesterday.
Reports are that about 3:20 p.m., a relative of Mr. Gayle went to visit him at his grocery shop and discovered his body behind the counter. The police were called, the crime scene processed and the body removed to the morgue. Mister Gayle was reportedly last seen about 20 minutes before the discovery.

Man shot dead in St. James

Twenty-one year-old Kenroy Burchell otherwise called “Easy” of Retirement district, St. James was shot dead by unknown assailants in the community yesterday.
The CCN is reporting that about 5:45 p.m., residents heard explosions after which Burchell’s body with gunshot wounds was seen. The police were called and they responded and processed the crime scene. Burchell’s body was later removed to the morgue.

Unidentified woman’s body found in St. Thomas

The St. Thomas Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman whose body was dug from a shallow grave at Retreat in the parish yesterday afternoon.
On Monday March 1, police discovered the head of a human being in the Retreat area. Further investigations lead them to a shallow grave where it was suspected that the body was buried.
On Tuesday afternoon the body of a woman between the ages of 18-26, about 165 centimetres (5 feet 5 inches) long and of brown complexion was exhumed. A post mortem conducted on the scene by the government pathologist revealed that the cause of death is a result of the inflicting of wound to the chest by blunt force.
The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.
Two men fatally shot in gun battles with police in seperate incidents in the corporate area

Two men were fatally shot by the police in separate incidents yesterday at Warieka Hill, Kingston 2 and the intersection of Guava and Oakdene Road, Kingston 11. The officers also seized an illegal firearm and a quantity of ammunition in the incidents.
Those killed are 22-year-old Kemar Brown otherwise called “Warder” of Harbour Road, Kingston 2 and an unidentified man believed to be in his early twenties. His body is of dark complexion, medium build about 172 centimeters long. It was clad in brown merino, blue jeans pants and white, black and red sneakers.
Reports are that about 12:40 p.m., police on foot patrol in the Warieka Hill community were shot at by a group of men. The officers responded and the men ran into bushes in the community. They were pursued and they engaged the officers in another gun battle, during which Brown was shot. He was searched and plastic bag containing five 5.56, one 7.62 and one .45 cartridges was found in his pocket. Doctors pronounced him dead at the Kingston Public Hospital.
Less than an hour later, one of three gunmen who opened gunfire at lawmen at Guava and Oakdene Road was fatally shot and a Smith and Wesson .38 revolver with two cartridges taken from him. He was pronounced dead at hospital.
The Bureau of Special Investigations is probing both incidents.
Police investigate shooting death of teen in Spalding

The Christiana Police in Manchester have commenced a probe into the shooting death of Rohan Salomon, 18, of Jerusalem Housing Scheme, Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth last night. Two male teenagers ages 16 and 17 have been taken into custody for questioning in relation to his death.
The CCN is reporting that about 8:45 p.m. Rohan and the teens were at a house on Main Street, Spalding, Manchester when he ran from a room and collapsed. It was later discovered that he was shot. He was taken to the Percy Junior Hospital were he was pronounced dead. Officers, who visited the scene found a Smith and Wesson revolver bearing serial number D543569 with two cartridges.
Investigations continue.
Man killed in Denbigh, Clarendon

Twenty-six year-old Winston Goulbourne of Havannah Heights Phase 3 Denbigh, Clarendon was killed by gunmen in his community last night.
Reports from the CCN are that about 8:45 p.m. Goulbourne and a female friend were sitting along the roadway when they were pounced upon by two men armed with guns. The gunmen opened fire hitting him several times before escaping. The woman was unhurt. He was assisted to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Woman found stabbed to death at her home in Olympic Gardens

The body of 46-year-old Louise Porter, a janitor, was found with multiple stab wounds in her house at Largie Road, Olympic Gardens, Kingston 11 yesterday.
Reports are that about 11:00 a.m., lawmen were alerted to the area by residents who found the woman’s body. The investigators closely inspected the body and discovered it to have several stab wounds.
It was theorized that robbery may have been the motive as electrical and other items were missing from the house.
The St. Andrew South Homicide Team is investigating.
Four shot in Lilliput, two fatally

Detectives from the Montego Bay CIB in St. James have commenced investigations into the shooting deaths of Gary Howell and Odane Findlator and the injuring of two others, including a juvenile at Grange Pen district, Lilliput last night.
Findlator and the injured aged 15 and 21, hail from Lilliput in St. James while Howell is from Point Hill, St. Catherine.
Information received by the CCN is that about 9:40 p.m., the four were among patrons at a shop when four men armed with guns approached them. The gunmen opened fire hitting them before escaping in a waiting Toyota Corolla motor car. Howell and Findlator died on the spot. The injured were taken to hospital where they were admitted in serious condition.

Two chopped to death in the garden parish

Forty-nine year-old hotel worker, Errol Green and 16-year-old Michael Fowler both of Hyatts Field, Mile End, St. Ann were chopped to death and their bodies dumped in a pit behind their home yesterday.
Reports received are that about 3:00 p.m., after Mr. Green and Michael were not seen for the entire day, residents became concerned. An alarm was raised and police were called to assist in the searching of the two. Investigators who responded, observed blood stains in the house and found the bodies of the two with multiple chop wounds in the pit. A unit from the Ocho Rios Fire Department and residents removed the bodies from the pit.

Man shot and killed in Valley Heights

Thirty-two year-old Errol Anderson of Fellman Corner, Salt Spring in St. James was shot and killed by gunmen at Valley Heights, Green Pond also in St. James this morning.
Information received is that about 8:00 a.m., residents heard explosions in the community and called the police. Mr. Anderson was later found with gunshot wounds and was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he died.
Detectives from the Mount Salem Police Station are probing the incident.
Ex-soldier shot dead in St. James

Forty-one year-old Troy Austin otherwise called “Glamour Troy”, an ex-soldier of Norwood Avenue, Albion, St. James was shot and killed by two men at his home last night.
Reports from the Montego Bay CIB are that about 8:10 p.m., Mr. Austin was at home when he two men kicked open his front door. The hoodlums opened fire hitting him before escaping in the area. He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

St. Thomas gang leader and murder suspect fatally shot

Twenty nine year old Terrence McPherson o/c “T” who was identified as the main suspect in the murders in St. Thomas on Monday, March 1, was this afternoon fatally shot by members of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in a shootout on Lyndhurst Crescent in St. Andrew.
McPherson who had assumed leadership of the “Gwaalers Gang” following last week’s demise of then leader, Rupert Wallace o/c Killer Miller, is said to have viciously attacked a number of citizens who are domiciled in the Stanton Housing Scheme and Retreat district, (St. Thomas) in reprisal Wallace’s death.
He was figured prominently in the murders of Franklyn McCalla and an unidentified woman whose headless bodies were found in nearby districts in the parish.
About 3:30 this afternoon, the Joint Task Force carried out an operation on Lyndhurst Crescent in search of McPherson. When the police arrived on the scene they came under heavy gunfire by a group of men including McPherson. The action of the gunmen initiated a shootout with the lawmen. When the gun battle subsided, McPherson was discovered dead.
A .380 semi automatic pistol with 8 rounds of ammunition was taken from him.
