5-11-10: Dancehall Artiste Mad Cobra Got Shot In The Chest

What’s really going on with these dancehall DJ, could this be the reason why other Island and countries banning Jamaican artiste? The internet is buzzing with news that Mad Cobra was shot in the chest in Spanish Town St. Catharine.

Mad Cobra was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital with gun shot wounds, source also state that he’s still alive but bleeding badly from his mouth, nose and chest.

Update #1: He was shot coming out of a car. The bullet is lodged under his shoulder area.

Update #2: Popular entertainer Cobra is now recuperating in hospital after being shot twice in Portmore, St Catherine about 7.00 p.m. last night. The deejay, whose real name is Ewart Brown, was admitted to the Spanish Town hospital with two gunshot wounds to his shoulders.

A close friend of the Portmore-based deejay said he was shot when he stopped his car to speak to someone in a section of Braeton Phase One.
As news of the shooting spread, entertainment personalities and politicians turned up at the hospital.
Brown is the second dancehall artiste to be attacked in two days, following Monday morning’s shooting of Oneil Edwards of the group Voicemail.
Edwards remains hospitalised in critical condition.
After visiting Cobra last night, the culture minister, Olivia Grange, said a unified approach is needed to fight the crime.
Several artistes also raised concern about the crime situation.

Update #3: According to a report on Television Jamaica (TVJ) earlier tonight, yesterday evening’s shooting incident which left dancehall deejay Mad Cobra nursing gunshot wounds, stemmed from an altercation that he had with some youths in the Braeton community of Portmore. According to the report, the youths were offended because the deejay had shone his vehicle’s bright lights on them. Despite recognizing that the offender was the veteran deejay Mad Cobra and a long-time resident of the community, the youths still fired shots at him.
