

Jamaica's Usain Bolt holds his gold medal a day after winning the men's 100m at the Beijing National Stadium. After a lacklustre performance at the opening of the Beijing track and field competition the USA is hoping it can use the event to try and close the gold medal gap on China, where the Olympics hosts have 35 compared to the USA's 19.
