Let me just let you know just incase you dont realise... it is quicker to get rid of a gun than get rid of bogie on your hand any man will buy it or borrow a piece. So its not about how their getting the gun the fact is its been a problem with Jamaica from time thats why Gun court was established to eliminate the problem and it has'nt. From the corrupt government right down to the ghetto if you have the funds you have the weapon and remember what dont buy can mek too we talented in many ways. Its not about when where and how its about saving what is left Now. We are better off than most so help our people in Jamaica live in a safe and better place.

Hi Anthony,
I can sense the anger and hurt in your having to write this piece. It's noticeable that people like us when are writing about Jamaica and Jamaicans in Jamaica, we're always having to Apologise for or to the innocent! The reason we apologise
is others who are not thinking straight will say we are Insensitive.
Those are the same people, whenever is said, like what you and I have said, "You people are always talking negative about Jamaica, nothing positive. You're going on as if Jamaica is the only country in the world where murder is comitted. Onu too negative".
When I say I dislike the people; Try to understand what I'm saying or trying to say, I'm sorry for the Illiterate and those who can't help themselves to do better
therefore can't change their Quality of life, they are blameless. And I have no Axe to Grind with them. You know the 'One's' I'm talking about, you've mentioned them all.. They are the ones Destroying Jamaica. How can someone that can't afford a Coco Bread and Patty, afford any of these High-powered rifles! How can they! There are a number of Jamaicans, who get the opportuninty to come to the UK, when they get here the things they do and say is embarrassing
and shamful to us who has lived here for 30, 40 50 years honest, hard-working
Jamaicans. The Relatives and Friends who assit them to come to the UK and put a roof over their head, they use and abuse these persons in every way. You can hear them from far away, loud, brash and bold, swears at the top of their voices on the Streets and on Public Transport..We who have been here for many years, They call us, 'BC Transplant' and 'BC Sellout'. When you're on Certain Streets in the UK you'd think you're in downtown Kingston or somewhere in Western Kingston. At times when they are unbearable and we having to rebuke them..They'll say, "if yu was inna Jamaica I woulda Shoot yuh or Acid you.. They travel around with the same 'Bad Mentality'.

Mi Sorry Fi say, mi shame ah them..an dem ah fimme people!

Grand-Dad Klaude
I'm in agreement with everything thing you say.'.

I knew you would thats why I suggested it. Now we need to get theseProtest to our email friends and sites that we know and collect signatures, then compiled and sent to the Priminster of Jamaica letting him know of our concerns we need to let these killers know that they are destroying our land killing our family and we are NOT GOING TO STAND FOR THIS NO MORE If everyJamaican was to return Jamaica could'nt hold us, so these few so call bad man need to know enough is enough. Time for us to stop saying that Jamaica is getting bad and we are afraid to go back we cant forget our Jamaica as my mother once seh land of milk and honey well i want to remember how it use to be not as it is now set it up let me put mi name up Bold and Bright fi di bad man dem see it!!!!

True words Sweetnfine, good idea also. I just started a petition, I will have the detail soon.

Trisha Comment by Trisha on January 4, 2010 at 1:43pm
I suggest that every jamaican born and bred and even those who are from Jamaican national should sign a petititon of protest if anything should be done. Sometimes these things work. Set up a direct page for the protest. After many signatures this should be sent to the Priminister of Jamaica. This would then show him the concern of many other people who care about the seriousness of these crimes committed on the island. It is time people from all over the world who are jamaicans or who have family or friends living on the island show intrest and how it affects each and everyone. We need to stand and save the country its a situation that will and is getting out of hand. We need not stand in fear but fight the fight of many.

Well, I love Jamaica and the people of Jamaica. The people I dislike are those who walking around with guns, the gun career Jamaicans killer, the Jamaican who will gun you down and take your wallet, the Jamaican who will gun you down because you work hard and living a good life, the Jamaican who will gun you down because you have a nice girlfriend.

If you should take away the gun...11 Jamaican wouldn’t be killed in the first two days of 2010. The 1,660 people killed in 2009, over 90% is by gun. Right there you can see it’s a violent culture growing around guns. If you should take away the guns, you probably would have the same murder rate as any other country.

I'm not going to only blame the guns because its people that kills people but guns just makes it more efficient. It also seems guns give some type of pride to those who deprive of basic education and common sense. Having a gun and walking around with a gun give some sense of false manhood and power.

If you notice, most Jamaican who migrates from an early age doesn’t have this violent tendency, so it got to do with the education system, exposure and the limitation on opportunities.
Entire Jamaica is a prison for the poor, If you are not rich or have families out of Jamaica, you probably can’t leave the country. If you are living in UK, US or CA just to name a few, you can go and come as you wish to any country. But it seems Jamaicans are stocked to the island.

When I was in school in Jamaica, you only have a hand full of trade you can do when you finish school, If you didn’t passed any subjects your best bet is to go learn a trade, in US, UK, CA just to name a few, the possibilities is endless.

So it’s not all on the Jamaican people but the opportunities that available for them and what they grew up seeing...I always look at the other side of the coin, if I didn’t get the opportunities and was still living in JA, what would I be doing.
Some countries, you will have kids walking around with guns bigger than them, kids fighting for cause they don’t understand…I wouldn’t dislike those kids, I will more sorry for them.
The politician also to be blame because they too encourage violence, especially during election, during election it’s a blood bath in Spanish town. JLP, PNP are allies with area dons. Politician makes it easy for criminals to get guns..

I wouldn’t dislike Jamaican people on a whole; I would sorrier for them or dislike those doing bad....

Below is a shower posse’s video, watch it, below that is a rasta Jamaica attempting to chop up a taxi man because he owe him $100 Jamaican.

I'm Sorry having to say this; I'm Ashamed and Embarrassed having to. As a True Born Jamaican, I love our lovely Island, but I no longer like the People. Don't get me wrong, those I've met and got close to and am at ease with, then they are liked. The others I'm Afraid and Scared of.
Since 1991, I've been returning at least once a year, travelling all around the Island getting to know the Locals. The reason for many injuries and murders, is they don't how to 'Reason, to Disagree and continue talking, or quit what they can't Agree on, To Compromise, or Stop and Walk Away. Some will do just that and Walk Away, but the other person feels they are being Diss and use a knife causing injuries and murder. Jamaicans Don't just Talk or Discuss, they always Argue which turns into violence.
In my travels I've leaned not to get into an Arguement, When I'm talking single 'One to One' or in a Group and see it's leading to an arguement, I quietly walk away and disappear. It's always the other person that is wrong..Their attitude is I'm not wrong, it's You that's wrong. So when they Fail to Agree, they fight, usually with a weapon. The children sees, they too react the same way. Jamaicans in Jamaica are very Aggressive, Loud and Boisterous! Those who are Not, are Bullied, so they shy away, staying in their own little Silent World.

Aggressiveness; Listen to the Politicians. Listen to Radio TalK Show Host, Radio Discussions etc; sure it can get heated at times, but not to point of the calling the other person a Fool and Idiot, and swearing. Police swearing at you; You swear back, and see what happens.
You as a Tourist with a Camera or VideoCamcorde, especially if you're black, see their reaction towards you, no matter in which direction you're pointing the camera. The camera could be pointed in there direction, but not on them, or they are in the way of something you're taking a picture of, or you were taking a picture in that direction and they walk into it. Some purposley stop in front of the camera telling you stop, if you don't they curse you acting aggressively, and when you do, they still curse you as they walk away. They even tell you, you have no right taking pictures of the area..Can you imagine that! Well, it's True. I experience it every time I visit the Island...I've travelled all over the world and not once has this happened to me...But in the Country of My Birth, I'm told Not To.

What An Insult!
This is Open to Discussion and Comments I would Love your comments on this, whether you Agree or Disagree.

Klaude.
I'm afraid that's the way Jamaicans!

True words eaysee...I was just thinking about it this morning. What can be done to stem the crime and violence in Jamaica? then I was reminded how Jamaican are such a high temper culture of people. But that doest give the right to take life at will.
